Khao Ngu Stone Park

📍 Ratchaburi, Mueang Ratchaburi

A reclaimed limestone quarry turned tranquil park, where emerald flooded pits sit beneath sheer cliffs — one of them carved with an ancient Dvaravati-era Buddha relief, reached by a short climb to a breezy viewpoint.

Where stone was once blasted out for cement, Ratchaburi has made something unexpectedly lovely: a quiet park of jade-green quarry lakes ringed by pale cliffs, dotted with picnic spots and walking paths.

Why It’s Interesting

Above one of the pools, a cave shelters a carved Buddha relief dating back well over a thousand years to the Dvaravati period — a reminder that this landscape was sacred long before the quarry. A short, sometimes steep climb reaches a viewpoint over the water and the surrounding plain. It’s part history, part nature, and almost entirely local.

Getting There

Just outside Ratchaburi town, it’s an easy add-on to Khao Bin Cave or the Khao Chong Phran bat exodus. Wear shoes you can climb in and bring water — shade is limited at the top.
