Sai Yok Noi Waterfall

📍 Kanchanaburi, Sai Yok

A wide, easygoing roadside waterfall near Nam Tok where the river fans down a limestone face into shallow pools — a favourite local cool-off spot at the far end of the Death Railway line.

A short walk from Nam Tok station — the present end of the Death Railway — Sai Yok Noi tumbles in a broad sheet over a stepped limestone bluff into a string of shallow pools. It’s unpretentious, family-friendly, and beloved by Thai day-trippers.

Why It’s Interesting

After the sober history of the railway, Sai Yok Noi is the place to exhale: wade in, sit under the smaller cascades, and let the cool water do its work. Food stalls and shade make it an easy half-day, and its position at the railhead makes it a natural finale to a Death Railway train ride.

Best Time to Visit

Flow depends heavily on rain — the falls are at their fullest in and just after the rainy season (roughly August–November) and can slow to a trickle in the dry, hot months. Time your visit accordingly.
